"Real Food" by definition can be considered any plants or animals grown naturally and produced in natural form and environment....not in factories where they are processed, filled with preservatives, high fructrose corn syrup, injected with growth hormones, etc. For example, fruits and vegetables that are locally grown at a farm that doesn't spray their crops with pesticides or treat their soil unnaturally and immediately available for consumption ....or, animals that are raised in their natural environment...free and grass-fed, not contained, corn-fed and injected with growth hormones for abundance purposes like a human being on steroids.
Think about all the health implications you are exposing yourself to by ingesting anything but Real Food. Your Grandmother's Grandmother ate Real Food back in the day before supermarkets and the "Big Food Business" came into existence. They didn't purchase products from a supermarket that was overstocked with processed food that had addictive ingredients/chemicals on their labels that they could not pronounce, approved by our FDA and over-marketed with messages to have people running to get their fix of the addictive ingredients.
The "Big Food Business" has increasingly grown in America over the last few decades and our Country's rate of overweight/obese children and adults is growing rapidly and so is the rate of poor health issues including high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes to name a few....all because people have been over-exposed with Big Food Business marketing and don't even recognize Real Food anymore. While all of this is happening, the pockets of the Big Food Business keeps getting fatter (no pun intended).
What can you do to make a difference?
- Get educated and take an interest in the wealth of Real Nutrition there is available to you.
- Support local farms and/or join a food-coop to have access to fresh, untainted produce.
- Purchase only meats from animals that are grass-fed and free-range.
- Remove products from your diet that contain ingredients you can't pronounce.
- Ask your Grandparents what they ate growing up.
- Express your interest in having Real Food available in schools for your children.
- Share your interest and knowledge with others.
If you haven't tried Real Food yet, experiment with some fruits, veggies and meats. Do taste tests and compare....there really is no comparison. Real Food is so much sweeter, fresher and better-tasting hands down....you will be amazed and may never turn back!
